Overview:
Appointed by the relevant Regional Manager, the Deputy Regional Manager’s Emergency Communications prime responsibility is to support the Regional Manager and Raynet Groups at a local level, and also manage the relationships between the clubs in the other Raynet bodies (Network or Independent) either via the Controller, Secretary, or other contact, and the Regional Manager, in a competent and professional manner to maximise the benefits the members receive at local level from the RSGB. They are usually responsible for the whole of the region, and is appointed by the relevant Regional Manager, and serve for three years. The Regional Manager may remove them from office at any time.
Profile:
The DRM E-Com will:
a) Be a corporate member of the Society;
b) Reside in their district;
c) Have, ideally, served as a Committee member, Secretary, Chairman or Controller of a radio club, repeater group or Raynet group.
d) Have telephone and e-mail facilities;
e) Be a good communicator and be reasonably well known within the area they live;
f) Will have a flexible attitude to working practices and have time available outside of the working
day to support fellow Raynet members.

Appointment of Emergency Communications Deputy (DRM E-Com)
Reporting to:
Regional Manager and the Board Member with the Public Services Portfolio
Responsible for:
a) A link between the Raynet Membership the Regional Council via the Regional Manager
b) Advice and support to Affiliated Raynet Societies, Clubs and Groups with a given area.
c) Support to Raynet Members within their area.
d) Submitting important area issues requiring clarification to the RM for discussion.
e) Attending meetings as required.
f) Submitting a monthly activity report to the RM.
g) Gaining authority for Raynet activity visits from the RM.
h) Submitting monthly expense claims to the Membership Services Director in a timely manner.
i) Maintaining a directory of all RSGB Raynet Groups and amateur radio resources within their district.

Although this post is voluntary. All general expenses are paid including a mileage allowance.
